This is the option of the Machu Picchu by train, of 2 days. where the first day you will have the option to stay one night in Aguas Calientes (City of Machupicchu), then the second day you will have the option to climb very early in the morning to Machu Picchu to see the sunrise, and you will have the option to climb the huayna picchu mountain.
All our tours start and finish in Cusco, for this, passenger have to arrive in Cusco at most one day before the tour departure.

Example 1: I decide to leave at 9:00 a.m. from Cusco I would enjoy the scenery to arrive in Aguas Calientes (town of Machupicchu) I’ll be there at 1:30 p.m. I have the afternoon free to visit the hot springs; the next day I’ll go up to Machu Picchu very early to see the sunrise then I’ll walk till noon then I’ll be going back to Aguas Calientes to have lunch then, I take the train at 2:55 p.m. to be in Cusco around 6:30 p.m.
Example 2: I would like to stay the longest time possible in Machu Picchu and I want to climb up Waynapicchu or Machu Picchu mountain, so I decided to leave from Cusco at 5:30 a.m. on the first day and I’ll arrive in Machu picchu at 11:00 a.m. so I’ll leave my staff in the hotel and I’ll go up to visit all the afternoon Machu picchu, till 5:00 p.m. then I’ll be back in Aguas Calientes to enjoy the hot springs and on the second day I’ll go up again to Climb up the huayna picchu Mountain on the first group so I’ll be able to see sunrise so After Waynapicchu I’ll go back to the city to take a train at 6:20 to be in Cusco around 10:30 p.m.
Example 3: I don’t like to get up so early and return so late, I decide to leave from Cusco at 1:15 p.m. on the first day, I’ll be able to see the beautiful landscape in the bus and train before arrive in Aguas Calientes (Town of Machupicchu) I’ll be there at 5:00 p.m. a good time to visit the hot springs; the second day I want to have a good breakfast then I’ll go up to Machupicchu at 9:00 a.m. then I’ll visit Machupicchu till 2:30 p.m. after I’ll go back to Aguas Calientes to have lunch then I’ll take a train at 4:12 to be in Cusco at 7:45 p.m.

We have a daily departure from the two Train stations close to Cusco, the first one POROY TRAIN STATION (located to 30 minutes from Cusco) and the other OLLANTAYTAMBO TRAIN STATION (Located in the Sacred Valley, One and a half hours from Cusco). ALL OUR TOURS START AND FINISH IN CUSCO.
Between January 2 and April 30, 2017, services scheduled to arrive into and depart from Poroy Station will arrive at/leave from Ollantaytambo Station instead. Regular services departing from and arriving at Ollantaytambo Station will not be affected.
We pick you up at your accommodation according to the agreed time, then we’ll take you by car to the Poroy Train station (located 30 minutes from Cusco), from this place we’ll take three hours train ride, we’ll pass by small typical villages, nice valleys, snow-covered mountains and many local people performing their daily life, to arrive in Aguas Calientes (town of Machupicchu), arriving there, our staff will pick you up to take you to your hotel (Afternoon free), by night you’ll meet the guide to talk about the the next day Machu Picchu.
After breakfast you’ll go up by bus to the archaeological site of Machupicchu, where you’ll have two hours guiding tour, the guiding will be around the main places of the citadel, then, you’ll have free time to explore Machupicchu and take pictures by yourself (You’ll have the option to climb up to Waynapicchu mountain), after the free time we’ll return to Aguas Calientes where you’ll have free time to have lunch; depending of your train schedule you have to be in the train station ready to take your train that after three hours will arrive again in Poroy train station and from here we’ll bring you back to your accommodation in Cusco again.

The difference between the Expedition and Vistadome Trains (PeruRail) and 360° Trains (IncaRail) would be the seats and their taller and wider windows that make them more panoramic, besides the type of Snack; Hiram Bingham (PeruRail) and Presidential Train (IncaRail) are Luxury trains.

This Train Station is located to one and a half hours from Cusco, from these place you have different train departure during the day to go and come back.
the Ollantaytambo station is the best option for a trip to Machu Picchu by train, it is very crowded by the visitors who made the tour by the sacred valley of the Incas.

First day early in the morning after a beautiful train journey we got down at 104 km and did a wonderful hike up to Andes Mountains to Vinaywayna (=forever young) ancient inca site...passed waterfalls, walked above clouds, enjoyed breath-taking Urubamba scenery down, flora & fauna of the forest, keeping always original stone steps of Incas. It rained all day till we reached at last to Sun Gate (Inti Punku), Inca Kings gate, the sun came back at Sun Gate! ....and Machu Picchu was down there....we were all wet to the bone, very tired, but very happy, went to Aguas Calientes. We also did the Sacred Valley and the Cusco city tour. Both guides were awesome! They were patience and were also constantly telling us to slow down as some of us were experiencing altitude sickness.
A big shout out to our tour guide Elvis at machu picchu was awesome! He was very patient since my mom was struggling to walk up and down the steps. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend to hire a private tour guide so you can ask questions and not feel rushed.
Overall, I would give this company my highest recommendation! They are able to customize and accommodate your needs. For example, at Machu Picchu picchu, my dad and I did the morning 7am hike to Huaynu Pichhu. I expressed my concern to the tour company about my mom taking the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu by herself. They told me that the tour guide can pick my mom up at the lobby and personally escort her to the front gate to meet us after our hime! WOW! This was one of the reasons why I decided to go with this tour company.

Machu Picchu (1 day tour)
We have just completed a tour of Machu Picchu with Inka Time. The preparation for this and the coordination were excellent. After much research... read more we were glad to avail of this tour company. We met in the main office in Cusco the night before the tour and had all our tickets issued and questions answered. Pick up at 5am prompt and the train journey in the 360 carriage was smooth. A box breakfast is offered with a hot drink. Another representative met us at Aguas Calientes and popped us on the bus to
MP. The guide, Ulysses met us and the other 6 in our group at the entrance. he was excellent and made it so so interesting, adding little humour to his tales. There are people everywhere and taking that perfect photo of the iconic site is difficult., but such is a tourist destination. I had some little words with a Chinese woman who demanded I step out of her posed photo which was taking her all my allocated time to grasp the chance of my own pic... unfortunately the day of selfies and posing for instagram specials makes it difficult to just get a couple of simple shots. Anyway our guide gave us some time to take a couple of pics at some areas, but seeing as we had some 2 hours extra at the end we wrongly thought we could easily get more photos at our leisure... this is not the case. The trail we took with our guide is ONE WAY ONLY! So when we finished up after 2 hours the guards told us we needed to keep going towards the exit! We were so disappointed not to have had time to take more photos at different spots. We did plead with the entrance gate guard who just as a once off let us in for half hour to get just a couple more pics.. ( holding our passports as collateral) we had 2 hours to kill in Aguas Calientes. Nice town with many restaurants and stalls, but a bit of a drawn out end. I don’t think it was made clear to us that the guided tour is a one way show and there is no opportunity to back track steps to take more pics at the end (security guards won’t allow) there are some signs for one way but they are very small and with people walking back and forward it’s just not clear enough. I would say if you don’t want to do lunch in Aguas Calientes the day could be made much shorter. The buses to and from the site were efficient (we didn’t have to wait long)

I booked the Sacred Valley 1-day tour after reading several Inka Time tourist reviews and communicated directly with those reviewers via Tripadvisor messaging. It generally went pretty well. They had... read more an agent/shuttle meet me my AirBnB and off we went picking up other tourists. The guide spoke well enough English. The NEGATIVE experience came when we were supposed to stop for lunch. My tour didn't include lunch and I was told that we would be in an area with several food options. Turned out that the guide dropped us off at a VERY HIGH PRICED buffet place where they were going to charge me 45 soles for the quick lunch. Mind you, the whole 12-hour tour with transportation and guide cost 60 soles, so you can imagine how pricey this restaurant was. When I balked at the price, the restaurant owner immediately dropped price to 30 soles. When I refused, she offered me a bowl of soup for 20 soles - a rip off! I was very upset and complained to the tour guide. He claimed he had nothing to do with it, that he just showed up to where he was directed. I decided to chance it and walked out onto a very desolate street. As I said, we were dropped off in the middle of nowhere, not exactly what was described to me. I found a little hole in the wall across the street where I saw hot soup, chicken and rice for 8 soles. It looked clean enough so I chanced it and was fine (this to give you perspective of what I paid, compared to what they were going to rip me off, because I was a tourist).

Yes, you can, we have departure every day, feel free to decide when to go.
2.- We don’t like to go in a big group, can we arrange a private tour?
Yes you can, our group tours go with 15 or 19 people, but if you want, you can also arrange a private tour, we have different rates for it depending on how many people you are.
3.- I will travel with my family, we have two 65 YO people, do you think, can they make it?
We had people on this tour from 70 and 75 YO, the tour is not hard, but you have some small hikes into the Inca Sites where there are many steps to go up and down if you think they are not to fit to do it, we recommend to take a Private tour, that will be a perfect plan to do the tour quite easily and smoothly.
4.- We want to take the tour included Wayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain, do we have enough time to do it in the same day tour of Machu Picchu?
Yes, On this tour you will sleep in Aguas Calientes (Town of Machu Picchu) so you can take some of the first busses, the park opens at 6:00 am. suppose that you will get in at 7:00 am. First, you can climb the Mountain (2 or 3 and 1/2 hours hike) until 10:30 am. Then, you can go out to use the toilet or eat something and rest, then you can start the guided tour around the citadel (Around 2 hours) until 14:00 hrs. Then you will have free time to continue exploring on your own, the park is open until 5 pm. You will have like 10 hours to be there, the train departure to return is at 19:00 hrs.
5.- How about my luggage, can I take all my staff?, or where can I store it?
As this tour is only for 2 days we recommend to take only small backpacks because there are restrictions to take on the train, and also all the streets in Aguas Calientes have only pedestrian access. The rest of your stuff you can be stored at your accommodation in Cusco, All the Hotels have storage if you book the night for your way back, you can leave your stuff there, another option is that you can leave your stuff in our office, in the two options you don’t need to pay anything extra.
6.- How about the altitude, Are going to pass by other places higher than Cusco?
Cusco city is located in 3350 masl. (10990 Ft.) the only place higher than Cusco is Chinchero area 3750 masl. then you will descend to Aguas Calientes 2050 masl. Machu Picchu is located in 2450 masl (8038 Ft.); we always recommend to have at least one day in Cusco to acclimatize; altitude sickness is very different for everyone, sometimes you don’t have any problem.
